The Spirobank Smart Spirometer is a device that requires little maintenance. However, the mouthpiece and turbine should be cleaned regularly to avoid blockage and ensure the correct functioning of the device. This will also ensure the accuracy of your results.
It is recommended to clean the turbine and mouthpiece on a weekly basis by following the steps below:
To separate the turbine and mouthpiece from the rest of the device, simply rotate the pieces counterclockwise and pull out.
Both pieces should then separate from the rest of the device.
Immerse the turbine and mouthpiece in warm, soapy water for 2-3 minutes.
Note: Do not emerge the whole device in water as this will damage the batteries and electronic components.
Rinse in clean water and shake gently to remove any excess water.
Allow both pieces to air dry before reassembling.
Do not use any alcoholic/oily cleaning solutions or boiling water. Do not clean the turbine under a direct jet of water.
